Fierce & Fearless

Fierce and Fearless is a young women's leadership and empowerment project. The aim is to engage local young people that identify as women who are ready to take the next step in developing self-worth, inner-strength, leadership and change-making, in order to create a more gender equitable and safe world.

Rationale:

We are committed to reducing the impact of violence, gender inequality, social disadvantage and isolation on the lives of women of all ages. We recognise the need for our organisation to engage with women earlier in their lives. In doing so, we aim to prevent future intimate partner violence through challenging rigid gender norms that undervalue the contribution of women and girls.

Fierce and Fearless is an opportunity to improve young women's access to the community through activities that develop skills, attitudes and behaviours which will lead to greater gender equality, respectful relationships, safety and confidence to take on leadership roles in their personal lives and in the wider community.

This project was developed in partnership with Blacktown City Council, Elemental Training and Mindful School Australia, and has received partial funding from a NSW Government Youth Opportunities Grant.
