COVID-19 Update

Dear WASH House Community

This is a quick update about COVID-19 (the Corona Virus) and WASH House.

The wellbeing of all our clients and staff continues to be our top priority. We hope all of you are keeping safe and well and managing the impact of the virus on yourself, your family and your community. We acknowledge that the stress and uncertainty of our current situation can be difficult and encourage you to contact us if you need support. Most of all we encourage everyone to be calm and to be kind – to themselves and to others.

At this stage we are open for business as usual. We hope we can continue this but want to acknowledge that our circumstances might change quickly. We are not attending non-essential meetings and may have to reduce face to face contact in the future. We will do our best to keep you informed of any changes.

We are keeping up to date with advice from the Government and following recommendations. This means we have implemented social distancing practices and increased hygiene measures. We encourage you to do the same in your daily life.

We ask that if you have been overseas in the past 14 days OR been in contact with someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 OR have any symptoms of a contagious illness (including flu) that you don’t visit the centre for appointments or attend groups. Talk to us about whether we can provide you a service over the phone.

If you do come to the centre or one of our activities we ask that you wash your hands regularly, use the provided hand sanitiser, avoid touching other people and where possible keep one metre apart from each other.

We have had to cancel some groups and large events. We will not be running Art, Yoga or Computers for the rest of this term. Other groups are proceeding, some with minor changes (for example we are not providing mats for wellbeing groups or shared plates of food). Please don’t hesitate to call us if you have a question about one of our activities.
